Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Psalm 139:23
Today you are invited to consider what is worrying you. Don’t think about it as a worry but rather as a prayer. Tell God all about it. Ask Him for His help. Even if you have already done this today, do it again. This time imagine putting your worry or worries in a box. See yourself tying it up with string. Look on as you give your parcel of worries to Jesus and He reaches out to receive them. Watch as He takes your parcel and clutches it close to Him. Then see Him turn around, put the parcel behind Him so neither you nor He can see it, and stretch out His arms to you again to hold you close. How do you feel as you see this scene in your mind? What do you want to say to Jesus? Now go back to your life, leaving that box of worries with Him. Sense the freedom. Jesus has got this. You are free to go forward, released of all worry – if you will allow yourself to do so. Tell Him about any struggles you may have leaving your worries with Him. Let Him love you.
May God bless you with freedom from worry today and with the joy that freedom brings.
